I'm thrilled to have read this as the first book of 2019, it put me in such a good mood to read.

The book is absolutely fantastic, with great characters and very good storylines. Everything comes together in the end and concludes very nicely.
The story is about a famous actress in her 80s who was extremely popular in the 50s all through the 1980s. It's about her life, her struggles, how she ended up with so many husbands and what she had to do to protect the people that she loved. Evelyn's character is so real and you can relate to her. Especially when she acts without thinking, or thinks a certain way.
A slight warning: This does have themes of death, addiction and slight non-consensual acts.
5/5 absolutely incredible story. I kept wanting to google Evelyn Hugo. You get so hooked and immersed in the story, you end up thinking it's about a real person.
